How Science Acknowledges The Existence of God

Romans 1:18-21 ISV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth by their unrighteousness, because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts were darkened.

Ignorance of the existence of God is without excuse. God put his attributes into display by the skies, the seas, nature, and even in how the days go by, so that even a man living under a cave alone in an isolated continent can know that there is a God somewhere in his quest for truth by simply paying attention to nature (read The Quest For Truth). He may start off in a wrong mode of worship (religion) but God still made a way to the right faith for any diligent and sincere truth seeker.

The truth of God is not relative; truth is absolute. Truth doesn't depend on religious views. Two religions cannot be right because every religion contradicts the other. They must either all be wrong or just one be right. If you are in a religion, you should endeavor to be sure that that is the right way. Do not be in it just to belong to a faith. Two people cannot both be right if one says there is milk in the fridge and the other says there is no milk in the fridge. If you're of the view that they are both right, then there must be both milk in the fridge and no milk in the fridge. There is only one true faith.

Truth about reality is knowable. Agnosticism and Skepticism are both self-defeating. To say that truth about reality is unknowable is to claim that you know the truth about reality that it is unknowable. To say that we must be skeptical about everything means that we should be skeptical about being skeptical in the first place.

Truth cannot contradict, that means there is only one truth. And for the first quest, we must find the truth about existence. Does God exist? This is a rather familiar topic which is the theme of most Theism Vs Atheism & Agnosticism debates. But I am not the kind of person to deliver already known contents on any topic under discussion. So I will take a different approach.

Atheism and Scientology believe in scientific theories of existence. They do not like to believe in anything that they think cannot be proven through methods of science. If there exists an all knowing all powerful God, then he should be able to prove himself in whatever belief system that unbelieving men put in place to dismiss the idea of his existence, because the truth must be presentable in any form possible in order that by all means, He may win some people in that belief system over. For this reason, even science should lead a man to God.

Does God exist? To be able to answer this to satisfy and settle both sides of the argument, we must disprove the facts presented by the side that says "No". We will use scientific theories to prove his existence and show the scientist that his science is actually pointing to God. Shall we begin.
To prove that God does exist, we will apply the scientific rule of Causality which states that there's no effect without a cause.  Nothing cannot cause something since nothing does not even exist. Only something can produce something. Something must first exist before something can produce another something. So to answer if God exists, we must answer if a 'creator’ exists.  Everything in existence right now must have come from something (according to the law of Cause and Effect). This something which caused everything we see including us must first EXIST to cause this. This something must be a BEING (in existence).

Another aspect of the scientific law of Cause and Effect is that an Effect is similar to its cause. Like produces like. This is The Principle of Analogy. Being shares being for this is all that it has to share. We can replace the 'something' which caused all this with the word 'Being' at this point. Note that this Being could be in any form. According to scientists, it is the energy that expanded and contrasted to cause the Big Bang. Science calls it energy, but when we applied the previous laws stated to it, we had to acknowledge that this 'energy' is a being (being means to exist).

So far we have rationally arrived at the existence of a cause which caused the existence of everything. This cause is an energy being. We have to develop that idea further.

Energy is neither created nor destroyed. That means this energy being must self-existent. Science asserts to this fact. Stephen Hawkins in his book A Brief History of Time also delivered a theory about the origin of time, propounding that time has a beginning; there was a 'time' when there was no time- an eternity, so to speak. Time only came about through the inception of the universe because the energy of the big bang did not exist in time, its existence has been in eternity. From this, we will agree that not only is the energy being self-existent, it exists in eternity.

We must also lay some blocks down about beings. A being is either necessary or contingent but not both. A necessary being cannot cause another necessary being. By its nature a necessary being cannot come to be or cease to be. Also a being can only share itself. This would make a contingent being both like and unlike its cause. The contingent being is brought about by the necessary being and can share many similarities apart from the self-existing nature of the necessary being. We are all contingent beings in this regard. Therefore, a necessary Being exists that created you and every other contingent being.

We now arrive safely at:
1) Something (you and everything you see) exists,
2) but nothing cannot cause something,
3) therefore an eternal and necessary Being exists which caused everything.

Does a creator exist? The rational answer now is Yes. The next rational question would be "Is this Creator a living rational being, or just a large floating mass of energy?

When we look at life, we see irreducibly complex systems that depend on each other for existence. This is true at a macro and micro level. The human body is composed of systems such as the digestive system, the skeletal system, etc. These systems depend on each other. Conditions on Earth also seem to be fine-tuned for life. There are 1001 factors that are required to make life on earth possible. Some of these factors are the amount of oxygen in the air, the arrangement of the solar system, the characteristics of water, gravity, etc. It seems as if everything has been intelligently put in place for existence in earth. This is not so on other planets. If all this was a result of a random chemical explosion, there should have been the same thing happening even haphazardly on every planet. Also, the dynamics of life are simple yet complex and scientific findings especially in the DNA show us how complex and specified life is. Scientists have discovered that the mathematical pattern of our DNA is the same as that of human language. Highly educated scientists have reverse-engineered DNA and are now attempting to program new life forms through synthetic biology. All this goes to prove that a program requires a Programmer and that specified complexity requires an Intelligent Designer.

This Creator must be one, and he must be a living rational being who first possesses life to give life to anything, and possesses enough wisdom to cause all these things which scientists are struggling to understand to come into being. God created the universe in wisdom.

Jer 10:12 ISV
But our God formed the earth by his power and wisdom, and by his intelligence he hung the stars in space and stretched out the heavens.

Prov 3:19 ISV
By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, and by understanding he set the heavens in place.

At this stage we have arrived at the existence of a rational creator. Leading us to a sect of people called the Monotheists. Monotheists are people who believe in the existence of only one god.

In contrast to the beliefs of monotheists, there are 6 other sects, each holding contradicting beliefs: there are atheists (who say there's no God), pantheists (who say the universe is God), polytheists (who say there are many gods), etc. However, with the rational blocks we have built so, we have quite scientifically arrived at the existence of only one rational necessary being.

Monotheism can be grouped into three sub groups: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. We also call this groups religions. These are the groups which believe in the existence of only One God. This brings us to the main reason for this discussion. Remember we started by saying there is one truth and only one religion must be right.

Among the three monotheistic religions, which one is right? Merely acknowledging the existence of God without knowing the relationship that must exist between you and this God would be a futile. It is necessary know if worship is required in the first place, and if it is, which is mode of worship is right. Another article is being prepared on this blog in that respect. This article only tackles the science and philosophy of the existence of God.

Science does not dismiss the existence of a creator, science in fact admits that everything came from somewhere. If the energy of the big bang is what created the universe, then you have your creator, dear scientist. We theists only went a step further to scrutinize this creator. The findings of science were not meant to lead the scientist astray; God is in science. He is not a fairy tale; he is as real as you are. Without him, you cannot exist. Read my article on The Origin of Man. His name is I AM, and you came out of him. You are part of him that is why you cannot speak of your existence without first acknowledging his existence. If you are asked right now about yourself, you would have to say “I am this”, or “I am that”. What you just said was “This is the part of I AM (God) who is *whatever unique description you gave about yourself*”- you just acknowledged the existence of God.

Peace be unto you.
